Japanese students training at Chuwattana Gym, Bangkok, Thailand, 2009 Have you ever known you could have pushed just a little harder during training? Have you ever left the gym wondering why you even showed up? I suspect most of us have been there. For whichever reason(s), we experience days that disappoint, days we didn't realize our performance expectations, days where our general motivation lagged. Having lived and trained in Muay Thai in Thailand, I learned an invaluable practice which the general fitness enthusiast and athlete alike can benefit from: the art of not complaining. During training, questioning our trainers was frowned upon, as was complaining, both in our words and in … [Read more...]

Elite Sports Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi Review

Elite White BJJ GI details

This is my second Elite Sports Ultra Light Preshrunk White Gi and I love it because it is affordable, durable, and elegant. I’ve been rolling for two years at the best gym in the world, American Top Team headquarters in Coconut Creek Florida. Jiu Jitsu is the bread and butter of American Top Team so having the proper attire when stepping on the mats is paramount. Most people who had the privilege to train in Jiu Jitsu long enough know that white belts are the toughest players on the mats. White belts endure all types of abuse. They get smashed, submitted, and tested every day and yet, they still come back for more. As a white belt I am no exception. I get choked out, pinned, and … [Read more...]

Born Tough Momentum Track Suit Jogger Review

born tough joggers review

These are great! I live in Florida and I prefer to work out in shorts. I rarely wear sweatpants, but the Born Tough sweatpants have opened my eyes to other options. These joggers were crafted with 92% polyester and 8% elastane. They do not have that heavy cotton feel. The sweatpants are light and breathable. The comfort level is ridiculous. The company obviously factored in the coziness and functionality. These sweats are super light and flexible. I feel like I’m naked when I’m wearing them. The joggers allow … [Read more...]
