Muay Thai Wire: SIT-O GYM, BURIRAM CLOSURE 2011

June 5, 2011 By Laura Dal Farra 4 Comments

Sit-O Gym, Buriram, Thailand, 2011

My search for a new trainer brought me to the now defunct and abandoned Sit-O Gym.   Approximately one year ago, I submitted a post on My Muay Thai stating the gym was closed. This was based on the testimonies of a number of people. We were all incorrect, it had moved. (Although, speaking to others in the business today, I was told it has been closed for the past three years…?) I suspect some of the confusion may be based in what is considered ‘closed’.

Regardless, being accompanied by a past Sit-O nak muay coupled with visiting a now unemployed Sit-O kru, I believe it is safe to say, Sit-O Gym Buriram is no longer in operations under any capacity in the city of Buriram.

Kaimukdam and Palangpon who had been training in Buriram but fighting under Rajadamnern Promoter and Chuwattana Gym owner, Chucharoen Raweearamwong’s managment since late 2009, are currently training and living at Chuwattana Gym in  Bangkok.  Kaimukkao has joined them.  I believe the final move was in the earlier part of this year.

For more information on Buriram, please visit my other website Buriram Info. It’s a complete travel guide which offers hotel bookings, information on how to travel to Buriram, as well as multiple options of things to do.

About Laura Dal Farra

After a six month adventure training Muay Thai in Thailand in 2007, Laura Dal Farra returned to her native Canada, sold most of what she owned, and boarded a plane set for Bangkok alone. She spent the next 3.5 years training in traditional Muay Thai gyms, pushing her limits, and embracing the unknown. Realizing little was being written on the subject, she began to blog about it. Laura Dal Farra is the founder of Milk.Blitz.Street.Bomb.

hey tariq. as far as i know, there are two fully functioning gyms left in the city (and a ton in the country/smaller towns). currently in discussions with lookchaomaesaithong, a post should be up about it this week. the other is something to the affect of jaochowit
