Introducing Femii Thai

April 15, 2011 By Laura Dal Farra Leave a Comment

Femi Akinade, aka Femii Thai, is a singer/songwriter/thai boxer hailing from London, England. I met Femi in Bangkok in early 2009 while training at Chuwattana Gym. As that was over two years ago, my mind scrambles when I try to recall how long we trained together, I can’t remember if it was for a few weeks, or over a month. Nonetheless, what I do remember is Femi’s dedication to the art and the respect he extended to everyone around him. Femi also brought home a win from Rajadamnern Stadium that year.

Since skipping back to England, Femi continues to train but has switched his focus to music, his most recent single being released without a label’ssupport. He states, “In the last 2 years I’ve been doing gigs all around the UK….The aim now is to keep building my fan base and making great music. I hope to fight again in the future although not until it can become a priority again because I don’t wanna fight unless I can put 100% into it, and at the moment I put 100% into my music.”

The following is his most recent release, featuring Birmingham’s LionArt (It was also featured in the BBC’s televised urban musical Rules of Love):

About Laura Dal Farra

After a six month adventure training Muay Thai in Thailand in 2007, Laura Dal Farra returned to her native Canada, sold most of what she owned, and boarded a plane set for Bangkok alone. She spent the next 3.5 years training in traditional Muay Thai gyms, pushing her limits, and embracing the unknown. Realizing little was being written on the subject, she began to blog about it. Laura Dal Farra is the founder of Milk.Blitz.Street.Bomb.
