Kayasith Chuwattana VS Petmahachon Kiatsorranan – Rajadamnern Stadium April 2, 2009

Kayasith-Chuwattana-vs-Petmahachon-Kiatsorranan

Welcome to the first installment of the Chuwattana Gym Fight 2009 – 2010 series that will showcase on MBSB.

Bangkok’s Chuwattana Gym is owned by Rajadamnern Stadium promoter Choocharoen Raweearamwong, who is also a part of the Suk Dawrung Choocharoen promotions team.  Suk Dawrung Choocharoen sends talent to fight worldwide.    As a result, there is a large and sometimes ever changing pool of proficient nak muays training at Chuwattana on any given day.

Of all the fighters that trained at the gym while I was living there, Kayasith Chuwattana remains my favourite.  His speed, the beauty and ferocity of his technique and his intellect silence me.  For those of you familiar with muay thai style lingo, Kasyasith is a beautiful example of fee meur.

I originally was going to submit this fight to another website in 2009 and had written an intro.  From the archives:

By the fourth and fifth rounds I began to attract a crew of local men, one who kept trying to put his fingers in front of the camera. This compromised the quality of the video, particularly when I started to shake from anger and unquestionably when I smacked the guy, twice.  That being said, all five rounds were successfully shot despite wanting to slam my camera into someone’s grill.

Enjoy.

I believe Kayasith was the Rajadamnern Stadium champion for his weight class at the time of this fight.

Kayasith Chuwattana  54.00 kg / 118.00 lbs  (RED) vs Petmahachon Kiatsorranan  55.00 kg / 121.00 lbs  (BLUE)

About Laura Dal Farra

After a six month adventure training Muay Thai in Thailand in 2007, Laura Dal Farra returned to her native Canada, sold most of what she owned, and boarded a plane set for Bangkok alone. She spent the next 3.5 years training in traditional Muay Thai gyms, pushing her limits, and embracing the unknown. Realizing little was being written on the subject, she began to blog about it. Laura Dal Farra is the founder of Milk.Blitz.Street.Bomb.
