 …As Life Would Have It…

I got in a motorbike accident last night in Chiang Mai. Two days after I posted that last blog, a car blew through an intersection (Yield motherfucker! Yield!) and I had to break and bail to avoid hitting it. Over here, seems like there’s one traffic rule. Might makes right. I ride a Mio – I’ve got nothing.

My right side hit pavement, same side as last week. Tore my clothes, bruised and battered my foot, knee, elbow, pelvis….But this morning, I woke up fine. Interesting considering I couldn’t pull up my own pants or walk down a flight of stairs alone something like 3 days ago. On a really weird note, I swear to god my knee feels better…..

No real drama. I bailed. The car stopped. I stood up. It took off. 3 teenage girls helped me pick up my bike.

Hit the gym today to do some some basic rehab – stretching and light weights. I told one of the owners I should be decent for next week.

He looked at me and said, “Next week, you’ll be dead.”

Thanks bro. The other owner was just laughing and shouting, “One more time! One more time!” … on that note, my kru’s taking me to get a Buddha to wear around my neck. I have a feeling I’ll end up with one the size of my fist…

I don’t even know what to say at this point. If Thailand doesn’t kill me, maybe by the time I reach the West, I’ll be able to walk through concrete…. just as long as I don’t eat it, I don’t give a fuck…

About Laura Dal Farra

After a six month adventure training Muay Thai in Thailand in 2007, Laura Dal Farra returned to her native Canada, sold most of what she owned, and boarded a plane set for Bangkok alone. She spent the next 3.5 years training in traditional Muay Thai gyms, pushing her limits, and embracing the unknown. Realizing little was being written on the subject, she began to blog about it. Laura Dal Farra is the founder of Milk.Blitz.Street.Bomb.
