After six months training Muay Thai in Thailand in 2007, Laura Dal Farra returned to her native Canada, sold most of what she owned, and boarded a plane set for Bangkok alone. She spent the next 3.5 years training in traditional Muay Thai gyms, pushing her limits, and embracing the unknown. Realizing little was being written on the subject, she began to blog about it. Laura Dal Farra is the founder of Milk.Blitz.Street.Bomb.

Lindsey Newhall first left her home state of California when she was 20 and moved to China. In her four years there, she worked as a voice-over artist, played banjo in a punk band, and discovered Muay Thai at a gym in Beijing. She left China to be a park ranger in the open desert of Death Valley and the boreal forests of Alaska. In early 2013, she decided to train muay thai in Bangkok for a few months between job contracts. So far, she still hasn’t left.

Schooled in the West, so removed from the societal parameters that shaped her parents’ lives, Jess Boyd had always been motivated to dig deeper and research harder, in order to understand the countries that had influenced her family’s lives from the inside out. What began as an exploration of Vietnam developed into a love of Thailand and a relentless battle for women’s rights in Southeast Asia. At eighteen, Jess left London for Vietnam and ended up in Thailand where she started a life long relationship with Muay Thai. Five years later, this relationship has not only taken her into the depths of Thailand, but also into the depths of herself.
